Track Your Medical Records

It’s important to know how long an office will keep your records.
Per regulations adopted by the state board of health each provider of health care shall retain the health care records of his or her patients as part of their regularly maintained records for five years after the records are received or produced. As a further note, a provider of health care shall not destroy the health care records of a person who is less than 23 years of age even if they have been out of treatment for the minimum of five years. Dr. Andrews office does adhere to these regulations.
